Drake puts the Adidas rumors to rest.
It looks like Drake won’t be joining Kanye West, Pusha T, and Pharell at Team Adidas anymore. Drake has been a longtime fan and creative inspiration behind many Ovo Branded editions behind Limited edition Jordans.
Despite numerous rumors suggesting Drake’s time with Nike and Jordan Brand was coming to an end, he has recently shown off new Nike x OVO basketball jerseys, as well as a special edition Nike Air Max Plus.
At one point this year it was believed that Drake was going to leave Jordan Brand to sign with adidas. Now those rumors look to be a thing of the past, as him and Nike seemed to have rekindle their relationship.
Drake took to instagram last night to show off a never before seen Nike Air Max Plus, which features an all-black build, highlighted by the exposed lacing system covering the entire shoe. Additional details include an added heel tab and blue accents on the shank.
It’s unclear whether this sneaker is a new collaboration between Drake and Nike or an exclusive pair that will never release, but he did caption the photo, “for stage use.” It’s more like that this version was custom created for “OVO GOD” and to give a further boost to Air Max Brand. The Air Max brand was created back in 90’s and has become very popular over the years because of its maximum air support for the foot, and directly competing with brand Jordan.
