previously declared that her “real life is so much juicer” than we know — and it seems fans may finally learn the truth during Denise Richards season 10 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
Us Weekly confirmed in January that Denise, who joined the show during season 9, would be front and center in season 10. The Wild Things star’s alleged past with , who will recur on season 10, sparked the drama, per sources. While the Brandi Glanville Drinking and Dating author claims that the two women have had a sexual relationship in the past, Denise denies Brandi’s allegations and insists she’s always been faithful to husband whom she married in 2018. Aaron Phypers,
“We all had Denise’s back. It’s not, like, bash Denise,”
told Erika Jayne Us ahead of the April 15 premiere. “It’s not that anyone dislikes Denise. It was this series of events in which we asked Denise certain questions, and Denise would repeatedly either leave or not answer those questions. So when that happens in this group, the next time we see you, we’re going to ask the same question. It just never was resolved.”
Erika added that it was “frustrating” that Denise would leave scenes before they could resolve the conflict.
, meanwhile, told Dorit Kemsley Us that the drama between Denise and Brandi came from “left field.”
“[It was] like a bomb that exploded right in front of me and I had absolutely no warning whatsoever,” she explained. “There were some things leading up to that for sure. I got quite close with Denise pretty much from the beginning, so I’ve sort of went through all last season with her and she’s been a nice friend and someone that I speak to a lot. So going through it with her, I mean, obviously you’ll have to watch the show, but yeah, I mean there’s definitely some things that are surprising.”
The swimsuit designer added that the drama divides the cast, which also includes
and newbie Teddi Mellencamp, Kyle Richards, Lisa Rinna Garcelle Beauvais.
“In situations like this, the cast is always divided,” she said. “I don’t think it created too many ripples within the cast, but I think that there were those that sort of sided with this person and those that sided with the other. That always happens.”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs on Bravo Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET.

How It Started
Us confirmed in January that the tension started when the group was discussing threesomes during an on-camera dinner. “Denise shut down the conversation, because her children were in very close proximity at another table. The girls could hear everything,” a source told Us, referring to Sam, 16, Lola, 14, and Eloise, 8. “Denise doesn’t have anything to hide. If she had a threesome, she would own it. She just didn’t think it was an appropriate conversation with the girls present.”
After the awkward dinner party conversation, Brandi told some of their costars about their alleged past.
One insider told
Us that Denise insists that the Brandi hookup never happened. “It’s one thing for the drama to be directed or even scripted in certain situations, but to have blatantly false lies spewed as if it were fact is just wrong and shouldn’t be allowed,” the insider said. “Denise has only met Brandi one time prior and it was in a social setting. Denise has never been intimate with Brandi, ever.”
Denise also told fans in February that she is “100 percent monogamous to my husband.”
Sources on Brandi’s side of things, however, claim the
Drinking and Tweeting author has “the backup” she needs to prove the hookup happened. Brandi has also stated that she would take a lie detector test and has the “receipts” on hand.
Melrose Place alum called out Denise for skipping the finale party in December 2019 via Instagram. An insider told Us at the time that the two actresses will also be on the outs during the season.
“Behind the scenes, Lisa Rinna is continuing to be the instigator and continuously stirring the pot for maximum drama. Rinna does this to make herself relevant and maintaining job security,” a source told
Us. “Denise has had enough of Rinna’s constant meddling and passive aggressive behavior, especially with social media. Denise and Rinna are headed toward a showdown on camera, which is what Rinna has wanted. … Rinna is going to be exposed and held accountable; if Denise is the one to do it, bring it on.”
Denise Stopped Filming
Us confirmed that Denise took a step back from the series amid the drama.
“It’s impossible to have closure on something or to work through it when somebody flees,” Teddi told
Us about Denise going MIA during the end of the season. “But it’s because they can’t control the situation. None of us can, but the way that we work through it is talking through it or maybe it’s fighting through it, whatever it may be.”
The Cease and Desist
Rinna confronts Denise about taking legal action in the season 10 trailer. According to a source, the
Bold and the Beautiful star initially “laughed off” the drama with Brandi, but then decided she wanted all of the footage out of the show.
“I was surprised more at the cease and desist than I was the stopping of filming,” Erika told
Us ahead of the premiere. “I could understand, ‘Hey, wait a second. I need a minute. Hold on, this is not … Things are out of control.’ But the cease and desist is something that I was most taken aback by. I was a little bit more shocked. Like, ‘Wow, OK.’ That’s interesting.”
Teddi Teases More to the Story
“I think that you’ll see things ebb and flow,” the accountability coach told
Us about Denise’s drama. “And I mean there’s probably so much more that I don’t even know because there’s all the interviews and the confessionals and things that, you know, I only know the part that I lived.”
The Kissing Pic
On June 27, Brandi posted a photo to Twitter of herself kissing an unidentifiable blonde woman with the caption, “Making dinner for my fam/neighbors – #snack on this.” Though it’s not clear whether or not the woman is Denise, fans were quick to call out Brandi’s shirt, which appears to be the same one she wore while out with Denise last year.
