Mormons! Swingers! Homewreckers! Meet the ‘RHOSLC’ Cast, Watch the Trailer

    1

It’s been nearly a year since Bravo announced The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City — and the wait is (almost) over.

The network revealed the cast — Lisa Barlow, Mary Cosby, Heather Gay, Meredith Marks, Whitney Rose and  Jen Shah — and trailer for the upcoming series on Wednesday, September 9.

“Perfection is attainable,” Heather says at the top of the teaser before revealing she’s a “purebred pioneer Mormon.”

The trailer wastes no time tackling all of the women’s religion, with Lisa also revealing she’s Mormon — “by choice.” While Salt Lake City serves as the global headquarters for the Mormon religion, the remaining Real Housewives practice other faiths.

“I’m Jewish and I’m from Chicago,” Meredith declares.

    Mary reveals, “I’m actually Pentecostal.”

Whitney, meanwhile, left the church. “It is a really big deal that I am no longer Mormon,” she says.

Jen has a similar story: “I was raised Mormon, but I’m converting to Islam.”

After brief introductions, the new Bravolebrities waste no time bringing the drama.

“There’s a lot of misrepresentation of who is friends with who in this circle,” Meredith quips in the trailer.

Heather then asks Whitney if she thinks she’s a “homewrecker,” to which she replies, “Lisa accused me of being a swinger.”

Bravo announced the latest installment of the Real Housewives franchise at BravoCon in November 2019.

“You didn’t see it coming but I have tell you, you’re in Utah and you’ve got the majesty of the mountains. You’ve got the majesty of the Mormon religion,” Andy Cohen told fans at the convention. They hobnob with Hollywood stars who come to Sundance. It is gorgeous, and I think you’re gonna be really surprised, intrigued and titillated by the group of women we have chosen in Salt Lake City for the next Real Housewives.”

Salt Lake City joins Orange County, New York City, Atlanta, New Jersey, Beverly Hills, Potomac and Dallas as the latest city to get the Real Housewives treatment.

The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City premieres on Bravo Wednesday, November 11, at 10 p.m.

    Jen Shah

Jen converted from Mormonism to Islam after learning about the “historical mistreatment of black people in the Mormon religion,” according to the release. She shares two kids with her husband, Sharrieff.

“Jen is the queen of her house and her businesses as the CEO of three marketing companies. Always decked out in designer brands, Jen loves to host parties and spares no expense — it’s important to her that everyone knows she is the best host in Utah,” the bio reads. “With an extravagant personality and sharp tongue, she can go from 0 to 100 very quickly but usually comes back with apologies and love. But it’s not always fun and games for Jen with this group of women when she quickly finds herself at the center of the drama.”

    Lisa Barlow

Lisa went to Brigham Young University, which is owned by the Mormon Church, with Heather. She subsequently relocated to Utah after growing up in New York. Lisa is also close with Meredith, per the release. “As the owner of a marketing company and various tequila brands, she considers herself ’ Mormon 2.0′ as she is not one to adhere to all of the traditional and strict Mormon rules,” her description reads. “Married to her husband, John, with two children, she seemingly has it all, but struggles with her quest for perfection when her unrealistic standards start impacting her friendships.”

    Heather Gay

Heather, a divorced mother of three, owns a med-spa business called Beauty Lab and Laser. According to Bravo’s press release, she’s on a journey of self-discovery after her 11-year marriage ended. “A devout Mormon from birth, Heather Gay was married to Mormon royalty for 11 years but has distanced herself from the church after her divorce,” the release reads. “A self-proclaimed ‘good Mormon gone bad,’ she now considers herself ‘Mormon-ish’ as she plays by her own rules.”

    Mary Cosby

Mary is a “Pentecostal First Lady,” who has some unlikely family ties. “The caveat in her taking over the family business was that she marry her late grandmother’s second husband, Robert Cosby Sr.,” her bio reads. “They have since been married for 20 years and have one teenage son together. Small but mighty and always dressed to the nines, her unconventional past has made her guarded and she quickly finds herself on shaky ground with some of the ladies.”

    Meredith Marks

Meredith, a celebrity jewelry designer, is described by Bravo as an “ice queen with a knack for partying” who is close with Jen and Lisa. “Married for over 25 years, Meredith and her husband, Seth, have hit a rough patch and with their kids in college, she is faced with being an empty nester for the first time in her life,” the bio reads. “Meredith appears to have it all but when rumors begin to swirl, she must decide if she wants to turn to her girlfriends for support or suffer in silence.”

    Chad Kirkland/Bravo

    Whitney Rose

Whitney left the Mormon church after she had an affair with her boss, Justin. “Within weeks, they both left their spouses to be with each other and got married when Whitney found out she was pregnant,” Bravo explains. “Married for 10 years, they have two children – Bobbi and Brooks — and she owns a skincare line called Iris and Beau. Now, she is faced with parenting her father who is dealing with his own struggles and depends on her for everything.  And just when it seems like society is finally beginning to accept her 10-year marriage, scandalous rumors about her progressive relationship start to swirl.”
